Nice hardware but buggy drivers,
I have 6 monitors hooked up (for productivity) and purchased two of these cards to upgrade from dual 5770 which were very stable… well, the 7850 cards have been trouble & have wasted a lot of my time.
I have experienced screen flashing and miscellaneous problems coming out of monitor sleep, as well as several blue screens and lock-ups. I lost some work due to this, and it didn’t happen with my older 5770 cards, which were very stable.
I suspect it is the drivers however, so I hope it will be fixed in the next driver release, but until then… 1 star.
UPDATE 2012-06-20: The 12.6 BETA drivers are working much better (no crashes or freezes)… when the drivers are officially released and have proven stable for awhile then I will raise my rating, but they should have had stable drivers to begin with.
UPDATE 2012-06-30: The 12.6 drivers have been released. It looks like they are the same as the previous 12.6 BETA drivers I was using. I’m upping to 3 stars because the freezing and crashing is gone, but there is still some strange behavior and I’m still not happy I had to deal with this in the first place after spending so much money on two of these cards.
UPDATE 2012-08-22: I am now using the 12.8 drivers and the system is still not working as well as my older 5770 cards. I can only attribute this to driver bugs that have still not been fixed. For example, the mouse cursor is often messed up or not correct.

Great Overall Card,
All and all just a solid performing card card. I love the aluminium heatsink, looks and feels solid. I own a reference 7970 for myself, purchased this for another computer in the house; plays games almost as well, while I haven’t compared FPS this seems just as smooth.
