This hard drive is great. I’m not sure why the reviewer who gave it 1-star rating is bringing up something that had nothing to do with the actual hard drive. This drive is fantastic, very reliable and I got a great price on it despite of the recent disaster in Thailand. It has more space than the average user will ever need and if you do, just buy another one : Western Digital has been making fantastic drives for many years and this one is no exception.

|Great replacement for iMac 7,1 internal SATA drive,
I’ve now had this WD Caviar Green 2TB for only a few days, but I’m very satisfied with it. After some concern as to the compatibility of this HDD with my 24 inch (model 7,1) iMac, I’m completely happy. It replaced the original 250GB that came with the computer, and was immediately recognized and reformatted to Mac OS Journaled.
The drive is quiet, and I’m excited to have so much space!

|Cool, Quiet, Fast,
I have purchased 4 2T WD HDD over the past 2 years and with heavy usage did not disappoint me yet. Transfer speeds are 25-32 MB/s via USB 2.0 and 65-70 MB/s via esata connected to an internal $ 19.00 pci dynex card. Also, 65-70 mb/s via USB 3.0. Seek time is much faster than the internal hard drive that come with your pc. Finaly, but not least this WD will boot the computer much faster when used as the primary internal harddrive for your system. If you have a 4years old pc, this WD will significantly improve boot up time. Enjoy.
