Seagate fails,
This the the crap Seagate drive that has been failing. Mine lasted 2 months and it was gone. Don’t expect a lot of help from Seagate. They claim its just a firmware problem but that doesn’t seem to be the case. There are plenty of other hard drives out there. – don’t waste your money on Seagate. The are probably trying to dump them all and hoping for the best.Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 SATA 6Gb/s 1 TB Internal Hard Drive with 32MB Cache (ST31000524AS)

great when it works but both have now died within the first month,
windows became really unresponsive and then after a reboot, i got a message saying something like there was a bad boot sector. trying to ‘repair’ with the win7 disc did not work. this has happened now with both drive i bought. thankfully amazon is good and i got new ones and they are running good (so far)
no bad sectors reported with CHKDSK and the intel rapid storage utility says everything is ok. one more dead and i’m gonna get something else.
