Perfect memory upgrade for Sony laptop.,
I had purchased a Sony VGN-FW465 laptop from Amazon and needed to upgrade it to 8GB of system RAM in order to do software development. Well, Sony doesn’t provide a clue as to what type of system RAM would be a proper speed and configuration (number and size of RAM chips on the modules) for said laptop. After MUCH searching on the Internet I found a vendor whose price was over $100 higher than what I paid Amazon (it was a different brand of RAM), BUT whose site provided the specification I needed to determine what RAM would match my Sony laptop.
To make a long story short, I easily installed this Patriot RAM, thereby upgrading my laptop from 4GB to 8GB, and as I use an x64 system of Windows, one could immediately see the performance increase. I took the “old” 4GB and installed it in my father-in-law’s 2 GB HP laptop (again after doing a compatibility search). So two people and two laptops benefitted from this one purchase!

|GREAT for Lenovo T61p, Win7 Pro 64bit!!!,
Removed the 4 screws on bottom of T61p that were marked with “memory” icon. Popped out the old 3gb of Ram, and Popped these in. Rebooted and computer runs like BRAND NEW.
3gb has been taxing the HDD when trying to run many tabs in chrome and popular photo editing software programs…. this new 8gb allows me to run 60+ tabs in chrome, in multiple windows, photo editing software with multiple raw files open, vector graphic files open, itunes, skype, dropbox, multiple word documents, excel, and firefox open. All with ZERO operational slowdown. Memory utilization went from 1.86gb-6.87gb with no slowdowns on operation. Slight SLIGHT slowdown on launching new programs when that many were already running, but barely noticeable. Once that additional app was launched,the system ran at full speed! Couldnt be happier with this memory upgrade. A MUST for anyone with this same machine. Great Price!

No complaints here. Popped out my old 2gig chips and put in both these 4gig chips and booted the laptop right back up. No errors, no BIOS complaints, no problems with Windows. Windows 7 recognized the amount of RAM immediately and is loving its new 8gig. Timings are identical to the factory RAM (6-6-6-18) (wasn’t looking for faster RAM or anything, just extra RAM to open up a few more apps without having Windows slow down from paging). And it was $25 cheaper on the day I bought it than it is now. 🙂
Very happy with this RAM.
