This cooling system is probably the very best air cooled solution available. I am running this on an Intel 2600k Over clocked to 4.5ghz in an obsidian 650d.

I had to purchase the adapter so it would work on an lga 1155 socket. It comes only with the mounting solution for SE2011 sockets. But for the cost of the adapter its worth it for PWM fans. Im using the sabertooth p67 and letting BIOS and AI suite II control the fans. I set it so below 30c it idles at 20% which is about 250 RPM which is plenty to keep an idle CPU cool (heck it would probably work just fine passive at idle loads)

The fans are not silent at full power but they dont make an annoying hum or wine its a nice smooth sound. At idle 250 RPM they are silent at a distance greater than 6 inches with the side cover off I can not them and that’s after shutting down all the fans except the PSU fan (corsair 750 HX)

Using real temp idle temps are 34c and max temps get about 55 to 60c with ambient temps of 75 deg F

As for looks I think its pretty sweet looking it has nice aluminum fins that look mean and are well constructed. I never really had a problem with the fan color until I noticed they are the same color as the female model on the Noctua web page… humm now for some reason its slightly creepy.

These fans are large but the mounting solution is well designed and very ridged. I had 0 issue installing it in my corsair 650d with sabertooth p67 and Gskill sniper series ram.

If you are looking to build a powerful PC that idles silently like I did then the Noctua NH-D14 se2011 is a must. I run the fans off a single 4 pin CPU fan header on the mobo the necessary Y cable is included.

It can never be said this cooler will not handle the task of keeping a overclocked i7 3930k , cool.
Even running at over 4GHz, the temp never got above 45 degrees C.
Now the space this cooler takes up is large so you better have a large case. I had to remove the lower fan , to make room for the EVGA 570 HD graphic card. Now you do have to be careful in picking your memory chips, the cooler extends out over the memory area so memory taller than bout 1.6″ will be a problem. But don’t fear Gskill makes memory that fits and the Noctua web site gives you plenty of help in this area of memory.
For the price and peace of mind, I would recommend this cooler.

This twin fan CPU Cooler is big and it does the job. I’m running an Intel i7 3930k with 6 cores. When I do a stress test with Prime 95 for example, core temps rise with the extra work load but the Noctua handles it. Things get hot, but acceptably hot.

The 2 fans are noticeably quiet even on full tilt which is about 1250 RPM, really quiet, yet they push a lot of air. The fans have PWM cable plugs (4 pin) that can be used in a PWM fan header on the motherboard. I’m using the Asus P9X79 Pro, which means you can throttle the fans down to 600 RPM or up to max manually, or leave it on auto so that the fan speeds increase or decrease based on motherboard’s built-in CPU temperature sensor.

I read all the reviews for this item, and without doubt it is the quietest on the market. I like it, no problems to report. You can throw all the heat you want at it, in any overclocked scenario and under full load without failure.
