Dead on Arrival (DOA),
Figured I’d give MSI one last try with the new Big Bang XPower II, X79, Socket 2011. Unfortunately the motherboard was Dead On Arrival (DOA) as well as had a loose middle heat sink which would not properly seat with its one (1) securing screw. All items used with and attached to the motherboard I received were directly off of a fully operational; and working X79 motherboard.
This board would not post at all as well as the digital readout would not light or work. The only signs of life were the Blue LED’s which are placed around the board. All appeared to be illuminated however thats all my hard earned money spent on this board and the peripherals could muster. Tested and went through the normal routine of checking each item for failure to no avail.
Motherboard thus is on its way back to Amazon.
Unfortunately this board lived up to my first experience with MSI on the previous Big Bang Marshal board which like this one, good in concept however, horrible in execution.
Really wish these motherboard manufacturers would get their acts together and start pumping out quality working stock instead of shipping what appears to be every single motherboard off of the assembly line instead of having in-house Quality control they depend on the RMA and return procedures at the customers expense and hardship.
Because of this I only will purchase from Amazon as if I purchased from any other vendors, I Would be stuck with a DOA motherboard as did occur with a vender which had to do with EGGs when they refused to exchange and/or offer refund for a damaged motherboard which arrived damaged.
