If you’re doing your research on what size and brand to buy, don’t pass this one up. It’s stunning, sleek and slim, a perfect fit.
I recently bought a mattress and was given a gift card to buy a flat panel tv from a computer store in FL. Instead, I decided on getting a new monitor since my old one died on me after 5 years. After spending a week or so on researching, I decided on this Dell monitor. At that time, I only saw 1 review. They gave it a 5. I was suspicious only because no one else had bought it or at least hadn’t given a review. I wanted to know the good and bad. Dell hasn’t failed me so I went ahead and ordered it.
As soon as it arrived at my door, I was kind of scared. It was a very light box. Compared to my old monitor, it was a feather. When you open the box, you’ll love it. I hooked it up to my pc and it took two start ups for my Windows 7 to recognize the change. As a temporary replacement for my broken monitor, I was using an E Machines 15 inch monitor. If you have this same problem, don’t worry, let your computer set it up and you might need to shut down and start back up after a few minutes. After that, no worries.
Start up/Setup – Easy. The stand is easy to attach and the screen tilts smoothly. Might need to restart if your computer doesn’t recognize it at first like I said, but after that it’s good to go.
Brightness – To me, the default brightness is perfect. If you do feel you want it darker or lighter, it’s quite simple to change it. I haven’t had to set anything up at all. It’s ready to use right away.
Screen – Large, not glossy but matted. Very sturdy. One of my pet peeves of monitors is that there can be so much gloss that no matter how dark you make a room, you can always see something reflecting off of it including a mirror image of your own face. You won’t have to deal with that here. My monitor faces 5 tall vertical windows, which at times has sun blaring through them and I can still see everything without having to cover the windows.
Buttons – On/Off button is off to the right corner and lights up when on. My last monitor’s button got stuck and always stayed on. This button is a relief to me being that it doesn’t bulge out and won’t get stuck. Being that it’s on the side, you don’t notice it when watching movies. The option buttons are hidden away on the side as well but directly on the side of the monitor.
It’s perfect for your kids for watching movies, it’s perfect for work because it stretches and gives you more screen room, bright, no reflections, sleek, and just wonderful.

This is what you come to expect from Dell. As a long time Dell product user when it came time to replace my monitor i choose Dell because of their ease of use and reliability. One key feature for choosing this monitor is the HDMI port. I use it to play Xbox360. This monitor has good color, contrast and great viewing angle.

As a long time Dell user I love this big monitor, my Boy bought a bundled computer and it came with this monitor, but of course it wasn’t BIG enough for him so he gave it to me and got a bigger one. Hey you can’t beat the price! ;=)
