very fast Motherboard,
I’ve built 2 pc’s using this board and the i5 2400.
I will confirm that it is a micro ATX board, so go nuts with your case, you’ve got a lot to choose from.
You might be wondering what the heck is that trapezoidal connector next to the HDMI port. it’s what Intel calls a display port and looks as though it will be pushed as a new standard.
Remember that the processor you buy must support integrated video, otherwise you’ll have to purchase a seperate PCIe video card.
The board runs smoothly out of the box without any configurations to the BIOS. The included software is the intel express installer as with other late gen intel boards. if you’re like me you’ll want to just uncheck all the boxes in the applications section.
The back connections are as follows
1x eSata (no USB combo)
6x USB 2.0
1x Gigabit LAN
1x display port
1x DVI port
1x HDMI port
1x Firewire
2x USB 3.0
and your standard outlets for hi-def audio, (optical audio included)
Not too many PCI slots , 2 of them and 2 PCIE x1 connectors on the inside.
the board says that it will support up to 32GB of ram, with 4 slots, be on the lookout for those 8GB DDR3 chips, I haven’t seen them yet.
Lastly, your power supply should have a 2×2 connector as well as a 2×12 connector here.

Another sound board from Intel,
I believe this is my third Intel Media Series board and I have loved them all. There is nothing really special about this board other than the brand name. I installed an i7-2600K processor and 16GB DDR3-1600 memory. It runs absolutely stable. The only thing I hate about the Intel mohterboards is Intel does not support the port multiplier feature on the eSATA connection.

Does the job right.,
I am looking for a motherboard with USB 3.0/2.0, firewire, and other plenty choices of I/O port, this one has them all. It works with my i7-2600 extremely well. I do not think you can over-clock though. That why I got 2600 rather than 2600K.
