What can I say, it’s an AUSUS board. I ordered this mobo with an Intel Core i7-990X Extreme, 24GB G.Skill Ripjaws X Series, GeForce GTX 590, Kingston HyperX 240GB Sata III, and a Thermaltake Level 10 GT tower. Had no problems installing all hardware and installing Windows 7 Ultimate. My Windows experience is 7.9. Was 7.8 till all drivers were updated, no biggie. Note to all, this board has two Sata III ports and six Sata II ports. Haven’t tried overclocking, and don’t see a need, everything is instant.

|Asus P6X58-E Pro Temperature Problem,
Under normal conditions, the motherboard performs quite well. However, with an Intel i7-960 processor under heavy loads (i.e., video rendering/DVD burning) where both threads of each of the 4 processor cores are almost running at 100%, the Asus motherboard utilities report an over-temperature condition. Efforts to obtain information about temperature measurements and the related utilities from Asus support and to resolve the issue have only ended in frustration. This is more an endictment of Asus customer support than it is of the product. I suppose the next step might be to contact the CEO since nobody else seems responsive.

I bought this motherboard to replace a Asus Rampage II Gene that had problems. Installed my i7 920 and 24 gigs of Crucial ram and fired it up without reinstalling Windows 7. Took a few minutes for my system to find the new drivers and has been running without problems ever since. About as simple as it gets! Great one-day service from Amazon by the way.
