Do not buy asRock products,
I purchased this board in December and due to work I was not able to build the computer until May. When I finally was able to assemble the computer the board would not see the video card in any of the PCI-E slots. I contacted AsRock Tech support and it was sugggested that I update the BIOS, so I did. This did not fix the video card problem, but it did force me to re-install the OS as it would no longer boot. I ask for an received an RMA from AsRock. When AsRock received the RMA’ed board they stated that there were bent pins in the CPU socket area and that I would have to pay a service/labor fee and then the warranty would be cut from 12 months to 2 months.
For anybody that has ever installed an i5 or i7 CPU knows, you make sure of the cpu to socket orientation, cloase the retainer frame and lock it into place. Simple. So if the pins are stong enough, the right lenght, the retainer frame is correctly posistioned, then no bent pins.
I have own two other AsRock boards (AMD type) and found them both to be quirky, but since this was an Intel CPU I went against my better judgment and purchased this one. All I can say is $256.99 down the drain. I have now ordered a Gigabyte G1 Sniper, which I should have ordered in the first place.
Don’t waste your money stick with Asus or Gigabyte. For those who have been around for a while AsRock is on par with PcChips in quality.

Never buying Gigabyte again,
After problem after problem with Gigabyte’s z68xp ud3, which i ended up returning twice (refuse to shut down and restarts instead, blue screens in windows, switching off power supply resets cmos, nightmare trying to get front panel connectors to contact the board properly), i put my money towards this highly rated board and i was not disappointed. headache free which is more than i can say for the 2 gigabyte boards.
plenty of space around the cpu heatsinks for a bequiet dark rock pro cooler. no blue screens. usb3 front panel is nice but i honestly dont see much of a difference with usb2. one negative is that you can only have ONE pair of sata THREE in raid via the asmedia controller as the other controller does not support raid. you can still raid on the asmedia sata2 instead but i should have read the specs before i purchased it as it is clearly mentioned. sata 2 raid works just fine. five out of five stars.
