Great Performance for the Money,
What not to love about a quad core processor with built in HD video processing. I paired this processor with an As-Rock Motherboard in a HTPC build. Great performace for the money.

NEW Version AMD A6 3670Accelerated PU Black Edition,
A6 3670k
Accelerated Processing Unit
2.75 GHz 4.2 MB Cache
Socket FMI
(Has Radeon Graphics – but I use the latest NVIDIA GeForce 600 Series SLI PhysX Cuda Open Compute, et al installed on this mainboard)
Has 4 slots and I use all of them with:
Patriot Memory Sector5 G Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHz CAS 9-9-9-24 For Intel P55 Systems PGV38G1600ELK
(you cannot start up with 32 GB until you first establish the OS, the maximum you can go to begin with is 16 GB)
(NOT available in Amazon – Limited Edition – MSI Gold Series, Military Class III mainboard aka “motherboard” – no longer available, 64 bit OS)
I already have everything else; 4 TB HD plus 3 TB EXHDD – you first must start at IDE before you can use RAID
Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 Bit, System Info (Windows) Processor @ 7.8 (Microsoft goes to 7.9) – I do not O/C aka “overclock” – so my lowest configuration is at a mere 6.9 in graphics only.
Installed 3 fans (GPU plus 2 Sys fans – but since the case itself is the original old Compaq I think Presario (?) shell which I removed from the garbage, since it was so big, the need for more room to build up inside. I am considering drilling more holes on the case sides to allow more ventilation even though I am only running at 35c with fans at 100% (not auto) – the core itself is configured now to the full Core 6.
It uses Realtek Audio Sound (very good – for they update frequently both x86 or 32 bit and 64 bit OS) – and the sound is exceptional.
The ports are multitudes with 8 in rear (not accounting for surround sound), with firewire ports (2), HDMI port, 3.0, 2.0 – the flexibility of being able to use wired mouse/keyboard – slot or old styled port (only one – but one can obtain a single dual port male/female for keyboard and mouse together in one and have 2 extra ports for more). If you have USB ports in front then that is accounted for as long as you have it all set up and configured on the mainboard. (That which I have 2 USB plus one for additional sound and/or microphone and another for headset/speaker.)
One must be very careful in which Edition one selects for the Sockets varies and when one installs it, please heed the instructions carefully and watch that gold tip which is exceeding small; FOR IT MUST GO IN ONE DIRECTION ONLY or it is destroyed! Check, double check and triple check before you even put this powerful AMD A6 3670k Black Edition (hopefully you get the newest version).
The good thing about this is the wiring is long enough for whatever mainboard you are using it will reach to it or if the CPU or GPU Sys Fan is right nearby it is amazing how one can now wrap the wiring around the unit itself (fan) and not worry about wiring hitting the fan or getting into it or usage of clips will do as well. It is that workable.
While in BIOS it might seem intimidating at first, but the way it boots up is differing depending on what type of mainboard one has installed, nevertheless, it is exceeding fast!
Overall, I am very delighted at its performance and stability; it has my recommendations!

Excellent processor,
This can be overclocked pretty easily (at least with the asrock board I’m using) but is fast enough that it isn’t terribly necessary. My case really isn’t up to the heat generated when going above about 3.2GHz as it’s in a mini-itx setup with a single case fan, but with a better CPU fan and case, I imagine 3.4GHz or so is no problem. The video can also be easily overclocked quite a bit beyond the default speed.
