EVGA has outdone itself with this Video Card, August 2, 2011

I bought this card to prepare myself for Battlefield 3 when it comes out and I believe that I will be purchasing another one to run SLI so that it can make everything that much better. Before I purchased this from Newegg, I was using a 460GTX also by EVGA. Only 2 manufacturers make the 560ti card with 2GB VRAM, EVGA and Palit. I trust EVGA more than Palit hence why I purchased this one over the other brand. On to the review…

Card can run most games at high-highest depending on the game. I am able to play Battlefield BC2, Civilization V, Aliens vs Predator, and Just Cause 2 maxed out. It runs cool, it is quiet, has a huge amount of memory, easy to install – hardware wise and software/driver wise as well, and the 384 cores of the gtx560ti vs the 336 of the gtx560 does make a difference when you play games. When I say this card runs cool, I mean it really does run cool. In my Thermal Take Armor + case, it runs around 28c idle, and a max of 55c under full load.

For the money, this is the best bang for your buck right now. You can also overclock this card to go well above and beyond the specs on the box and make it even that much better. Just make sure to have adequate cooling for your case/card.

    Addition notes:
This card is huge as are the other newer cards so make sure you have room in your case for it. I didn’t have to move anything but I have heard of plenty of other people not being able to fit this card in their mid towers and some in their large towers had to move their hard drives out of the way. This card does take up 2 slots but if you are buying this card, I am sure you already know that. Also as a note, my Card does not run that hot, does not mean that yours won’t. Some users have reported seeing higher temperatures than what I have posted so make sure that you when you are looking at your temperatures, you are using my temperatures as a reference only. With that being said, my house stays at 72F(21C) during the summer/winter months, computer is in the basement which is usually around 68-70F(20C).

I am blown away by the performance of the card. It also hits 73c when under heavy load which is good for me and my high ambient temperatures (That’s also on latest drivers which cause overheating). I have purchased EVGA in the past and will continue to do so until I find a good reason not to.

One thing that should be said is that in order to take full advantage of the excellent EVGA warranty you must register on their website within 30 days of purchase. The website registration can be painful due to e-mail issues and if you’ve already installed your card you have to pull the serial off of it.

The free downloadable copy of Batman did not come with the game nor is there any coupon or mention of how to redeem it. I’m not sure if Amazon or EVGA is responsible for providing that but I will find out.

Tested with: BFBC2, Deus Ex 3, World of Warcraft, Civilization V.

Great videocard with good amount of memory. Run’s 3D application great for the money. Games run on max settings with out any lagging or any artifacting. Waiting to save some money to get a second one and put it in SLI mode. Haven’t had any issues so far with performance or display drivers.

My only con with this is the fan speed can be set to 75% max. For those who are sensitive to noise once you raise the fan passed 50% you can hear the fan but for me it doesn’t bother me.

I definitely recommend this car for those who are on a budge and yet want a powerful card.
