    Isn’t That Bad…, April 21, 2011

I’ start off with my specs:
    Win 7 64-bit
    AMD Athlon II 635 quad-core @ 2.9 Ghz
    8 Gigs of DDR3 PC3-10600
1 terabyte Seagate 7200 RPM drive.
    HP X23 LED monitor
    250W PSU

I was looking for a card that would work in my first gen PCIE slot in my HP p6624y computer I got at best buy’s 2010 black Friday deal. The computer had strong hardware so I was sure that it would operate well. After a lot of research, i decided to buy this card due to ATI having backwards capability issues with first gen PCIE slots. And this one works flawlessly. My budget for a card was about $100, and it delivered better than expected performance. It’s powered by a weak 250 watt PSU ( probably replace it with a stronger one). I am very surprised by how well it performs on Bad Company 2. At 1600 x 900 high on everything except ant aliasing 1x and shadows on medium, it runs at 40 fps. far better than the stock ATI integrated 4250. It has run 1920 x 1810 on medium very well and keeps cool. The fan is very quiet and only turns up when gaming a bit. This is definitely the 100 dollar card to buy now. I would recommend it to the casual gamer.
Shipping only took a week, and it came from Georgia.

It may be overkill to use this in a HTPC but I wanted a card that would utilize the Purevideo 4 spec from Nvidia. Purevideo 5 is now out but the 520 is an inferior card, IMO. It replaced a 8400GTX and my cpu utilization has been cut by a third. I only wish this came in a low-profile layout.

the gt 400 is a great video card.
Its nvidia best video card (or I think)that doesn’t need a 6 pin power cable.
    it works great on 1080p.
