I upgraded from a phenom x4 965 BE to this FX 6200. overall I’m pleased with my upgrade, Has improved my FPS in all games by Aprox 5-10 FPS on ultra. Video conversion and editing has been improved a lot compared to the 965 but that’s prob due to the 6 core. Also RAM is a big plus with the 1866mhz Have i mentioned this thing overclocks like a MONSTER? oh yeah stock cooler got it to 4.6Ghz without even trying(turbo off) H80 is in repair, Guessing i can get it to 5.5Ghz easily. Maybe it’s not intel but come on its 182$ 6 cores, its a new architecture so this thing has even more potential in Win8. If all you is hardcore gaming and some video editing ect, you cant go wrong with this for the price.

    My build
    Corsair 500r case
    Antec Earth Watts 650W
    Asus Sabertooth 990FX
    ASUS 560 GTX TI TOP
    AMD FX 6200 (4.6Ghz)
    G.Skill Sniper 2X4gb 1866
    Corsair 120GB GT SSD
    WD 500GB HDD 3gb/s
    H80 CPU Cooler

This is a pretty good CPU in my opinion… It’s as fast as I expected and its temperature is lower that I expected from an AMD CPU with the stock fan!

I couldn’t successfully OC it but I didn’t try much and I’m not expert in these stuffs.

On thing is to make sure that you use a program (in my case I use my own, AsRock 970 Extreme3, mobo program) to control the CPU’s fan speed. I put it at lowest level and in that level it’s pretty quiet and it rarely goes higher than that except for when I’m gaming! If normal usage, the temperature rarely goes higher than 45C which is good enough. In gaming and higher usages of CPU, the fan’s noise can be bothering if you’re using the stock fan.

In general I totally recommend it to anyone who doesn’t want to pay a lot for a CPU and still want to have a fairly high speed CPU. It looks pretty stable and I liked the fact that I don’t have to buy an extra fan for its cooling!

don’t listen to those people saying how much better Intel is i have this over-clocked to 4.5GHZ with an HD 7850, 8gigs of ram and it plays any game or runs any program flawlessly. i also have a HYPER 212 EVO to cool this which is only 30$ i could O.C. more but i don’t have any need.
