Great Budget 27″ LED LCD Monitor for Work,
Got the go ahead to purchase a new monitor for work, settled on this model by Acer. Couldn’t be happier. The Acer replaces an old Samsung 24″ monitor. The difference is alarming in terms of brightness and contrast. Though, comparing an LED LCD to standard LCD isn’t “apples to apples”, you will notice the difference, in a good way. I keep the settings at stock and they have been great for the last week. To be honest, despite the 3″ gain in screen real estate over the Samsung, the monitor doesn’t appear that much larger, probably due to how noticeably thin the monitor is; the Samsung is a bit hefty. You could pick up a cheaper monitor at Costco, but if it’s not your dime, this would be an excellent choice for work. It’s also been very helpful with creating solidmodels with solidworks.

|Acer has stepped it up,
A few years ago I would not have bought an Acer product, but since I bought the Acer HN274H BMIIID 3D 27-Inch LED for gaming purposes I’ve added them to my manufacturer considerations. I got this 27″ monitor as the second of four monitor display, and can’t be happier with it. For the price, it is probably the best I have seen, and it has a small bezel, which is important when you are trying to build an effective “monitor wall”.
Only reason it isn’t a 5 star review is that it does not have extra outputs, like for USB or headphones. A USB Hub on this monitor would have made it perfect.

Got Black Friday deal for 199.99. Thought it had HDMI in. My mistake. Had to buy Thunderbolt to DVI cable instead. Returned Acer S271HL to Best Buy because I got this monitor cheaper. Can confirm this monitor gives a better picture than Acer S271HL.
